The sale will have over consignors with children’s clothing, shoes, books, indoor/outdoor toys, movies, bedding, furniture & maternity clothes. The sale will be held at Hephzibah Children’s Home, located at  6601 Zebulon Road (across from Lake Wildwood). This is just West of Exit 9 off of I-475.

Savannah photographer and gallery owner Terry Hayes journeyed to the hinterlands of this Caribbean island to document Haitians who migrate between the adjacent countries–their native Haiti and neighboring Dominican Republic.

The opening reception is from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Admission is FREE. And don’t worry if you miss the opening reception, the collection will be on display at the Douglass Theatre throughout March.

The Second Sunday of each month the Macon Film Guild presents a critically recognized, independent film. Screenings are held at 2:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Historic Douglass Theatre. All seats are $5 and a Q&A Session is held to discuss the film after the 4:30 showing. Free Parking is available in the Mulberry Street deck next door.  

This month, on March 14, 2010, the Macon Film Guild is screening Police, Adjective. Here’s the description of the film from their website:

 This 2009 Romanian film is directed by Corneliu Porumboiu. Like many of the previous films, “Police, Adjective” submerges us in the dailiness of Romanian life, here the particular life of a young police detective named Cristi (Dragos Bucur). Cristi refuses to arrest a young man who offers hash to two of his school mates. “Offering” is punished by the law. Cristi believes that the law will change, he does not want the life of a young man he considers irresponsible to be a burden on his conscience. For his superior the word “conscience” has an entirely different meaning.

The Cox Capitol Theatre will show 2012 on Friday, March 12th. Doors open at 6 PM and the movie starts at 7 PM. Admission is $5. And, they serve beer…yea!
