Tonight is First Friday in downtown Macon, sponsored by NewTown Macon. As usual, there’s a lot going on in downtown.

If you’re looking to take in the music scene, there are two great acts you’ll want to check out tonight. First, Blues extraordinaire Eddie Kirkland puts on an encore with the Mobile Slim Band at 8 p.m. at the historic Douglass Theatre (Tickets $10). Later in the evening, Barry and the Slims will be performing at the Hummingbird Stage & Taproom.

On a budget? Head over to the Cox Capital Theatre for their Wine Tasting and showing of the movie Sideways. Admission is only $1. The wine tasting is from 5-7 p.m. Each taste is only $1 and glasses are $5 each. Plus, each taste enters you for a chance to win a bottle of that wine. The move starts at 7 p.m. And, they’ll have $1 pizza and $1 draft beer ALL NIGHT LONG!

What are you First Friday plans?
