Downtown Perry Christmas at the Crossroads

Christmas at the Crossroads is Perry, Georgia’s month long Christmas celebration that highlights all the beauty and charm of downtown Perry. This year’s festivities include many free or cheap family events. Here are some highlights:
Saturday, December 5
Pancake Breakfast with Santa • 7:30am – 10am
Perry Arts Center. Tickets are $5 per person.
Santa’s Workshop • 10am – 4pm
907 Carroll Street Children, with the help of an “elf” can shop for family and friends. Gift prices are $5 each and include gift wrapping. Once children are done shopping they can watch Christmas movies. This could be a good time to enjoy some inexpensive child care while you get some shopping done.
Decorate a Cookie • 11am – 3pm
The Swanson at 933 Carroll Street
Come and decorate your own Christmas cookie and get in the holiday spirit!
The Magic of Christmas Annual Parade • 2 pm
Enjoy our traditional and festive Christmas parade through the streets of downtown Perry along with local school choral groups performing before and after the parade.
Sunday, December 6
Community Candlelight Christmas Program & Lighting of Downtown • 6 pm
Join neighbors, family & friends at the Downtown Courthouse for singing carols old and new. Immediately after the program, follow the lamplighter as he taps on the doors of the shoppes on Carroll Street and magically lights Downtown.
Saturday, December 12
Breakfast with Santa • 8am – 10am
The Swanson at 933 Carroll Street
Jolly Old St. Nick welcomes children at The Swanson House for breakfast and a chance to share their Christmas wishes! A photographer will be available to capture the moment. Reservations required by calling 478-987-1938.
Decorate Your Own Christmas Ornament • 9am – 2pm
Beauty for Ashes Bookstore at 936 Carroll Street Be creative in making your own Christmas ornament while you enjoy a cup of coffee at the outdoor cafe at Beauty for Ashes Christian Bookstore. For children and adults. Call 478-987-1653 for more information.

The 4th Annual Evergreen Cemetery Tour Main Street • 2pm – 4pm
Join the Perry High School Drama Department as it presents a living history program at Evergreen Cemetery. Two separate tours will be available. The first tour introduces persons from the pre-Civil War era; the second tour introduces persons from the 20th century. Each tour lasts about 25 minutes. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
Horse-drawn Carriage Rides • 1pm – 5pm
From New Perry Hotel to Evergreen Cemetery
There is no charge for carriage rides but donations are welcome.
